[H]i! Where to start? Things about me that might be interesting to you: I am a classically trained dancer, an event planner and a Francophile. I’m overly organized, almost to a fault. I’m a total crossword junkie, an NPR nerd, and a Pisces. I’m a foodie, a coffee addict and grammar stickler. And now, I am a mom. I adore Champagne, can’t stand Crocs, love to read. I used to be a costumer, I’ve never had a pet, and someday want to be a private detective. I live in jeans and tanks, but really, I’d rather don a cocktail dress every day of the year. Yes, everyday.
My story in a nutshell: I grew up on the outskirts of Los Angeles, just far enough west to feel like the city was a world away. I’ve lived up and down the coast of California, from San Francisco to San Diego. Having lived in LA proper for almost ten years, I can scarcely remember living anywhere else. Or why I lived anywhere else. I love LA. I love the restaurants, the music, the museums. The architecture, the weather, the people. Yes, the people. Hell, sometimes I don’t even mind the traffic. Sometimes. I appreciate the history, the grit, the glamour. I’m more entertained by the city itself than its entertainment outputs. I’m amused by the quirkiness, the savvy, the jaded attitudes. Simply put, I love LA.
I am eager to share all the wonders of this great city with my son. With bright eyes and babe in arms, I am off to rediscover my beloved city, all through the eyes of a child. My child.
Welcome to Silver Lake Mom.
