[M]issing my mom who passed away 8 years ago today after battling pancreatic cancer. I’m so grateful to be a mom myself, to share in the wonder of motherhood. It makes me feel close to her, despite the distance. Here we are on my birthday.

dining with dad: fu-shing
[A]s our favorite food critic, Jonathan Gold promised, Fu-Shing is delicious! After drooling over camera equipment at Samy’s in Pasadena, (and getting a new speed light flash for my Nikon!), we were starved. We traveled east on Colorado Blvd. a few miles and wandered into the Chinese restaurant. Apparently, 3pm Sunday lunches are popular among those with… Continue reading dining with dad: fu-shing
the holidays in black&white ’11
I’ve been throwing a black and white themed holiday party for the past eight years. It’s truly one of my favorite things about the holiday season. We invite a ton of friends, get decked out from head to toe, and drink Champagne (or my husband’s intoxicating homemade egg nog) all night long. The evening always… Continue reading the holidays in black&white ’11
10 months old
Father Time and I are going to have it out. My list for that guy is long. It’s 2012? That can’t be possible. I’m going to be 34 this year? Also highly suspect. AND my baby is already 10 months old? That’s it. That’s enough. I’m thankful that I’ve learned these past ten months how… Continue reading 10 months old
tech day
Ugh. It’s a crazy tech day over here in Silver Lake. Updates to source coding in the site, photo editing, and my least favorite issue of the day, a crashed external hard drive. Boo! Bear with me for the next day or two. I will have new posts up as soon as I get things… Continue reading tech day
happy new year!
It’s almost 2012! I plan to pop a bottle of Veuve, don some sparkles and toast with friends. I wish you all a happy and safe New Year’s Eve!
dining with dad: macy’s
I’ve already admitted to being severely addicted to coffee. A loyalist to LAMill and Intelligentsia, it’s tricky for me to find a comparable cup of coffee while traveling. Thankfully, there is an independent coffee house where my in-laws live that can rival cups at both LAMill and Intelli. Oh, Macy’s. How I treasure your expertly… Continue reading dining with dad: macy’s
happy holidays!
Hope everyone is having happy and safe holidays! I’ll be back to regular posts once we’re back from our holiday travels.
under the tree
[M]y favorite thing under the tree this year.
the holidays in black & white
It’s the night before our annual holiday party, and though I am scurrying to finishing prepping, I thought I’d share a few fun pics from parties past. I’ll post more about this year’s party after the holidays hit.
